Duration: 1 day(s) - Location: Liwonde National Park

Njobvu Cultural Village is situated in Balaka District next to the prolific Liwonde National Park. It is supported by six main villages namely: Ligwangwa, Kwenje, Bimbi, Maninji, Chikolongo and Gopole. People in all these villages have Christian or Muslim beliefs combined with various traditional practices and beliefs; they speak different languages of which Chichewa is the major one. Njobvu Cultural Village was started in 2001 with the aim of generating income in order to support village nursery school, orphans and grandparents who take care of these orphans. It is also there to enable local people to learn more about the importance of Conserving Liwonde National Park's resources for tourism purposes, for example encouraging the locals to stop poaching.
