Booking notes

Please note tour times and days may vary. Transport is either self drive or with a driver, which can be organised through The Responsible Safari Company in Blantyre/Lilongwe at an additional cost.

Package includes: All accommodation at lodge and mountain huts, all meals and snacks, all guide and assistant guide(s) fees, all client and administration porters, professional cook, vehicle transfers to/from start/decent points, Park entry, vehicle Entry and MCM guest membership fees. The rate is based on per person sharing. Single Supplement $830

Package excludes: All Vehicle transfers to and from Likhubula, bottled water and extra drinks, tipping, toiletries and items of personal nature.

NB: Trip time and drop off location may change and this will be communicated prior to the trip.

Mulanje Mountain is a stunning self standing mountain in southern Malawi. With warm days and cooler evenings it is ideal for hiking. Mulanje Mountain is well known its stunning waterfalls, natural pools and views across southern Malawi. Perfect for a four day hiking adventure, staying at different huts each night and either climbing the challenging peaks or the flatter plateaus during the days.

    No surprises here. These tours/activities are those most anyone can do if they are fine with fairly flat walks and getting in and out of transport.

    Like to be active, even very active, but not pushed too far. This is the one for you.

    High

    These tours/activities require you to be very fit. Probably not suitable for children.

Itinerary

DAY 1 - Arrive at Mulanje Forest Office and go through a 3D orientation. Meet your guide and porter before departing up the mountain. Hiking hours will depend on the routes to be taken and your guide will let you know during orientation. Enjoy snacks en-route

DAY 2 - After breakfast, proceed to the next hut where a night will be spent. Enjoy exploring the mountain and packed lunch and snacks during your breaks.

DAY 3 - Head on to the next hurt and explore the mountain en-route.Enjoy your packed lunch and snacks en-route.

DAY 4 - An early wakeup call to descend back to Likhubula Forest Lodge and depart.

Cancellation Policy

If you wish to cancel or amend your booking The Responsible Safari Company Ltd. will make every effort to assist you. Requests for amendment or cancellation must be in writing, and confirmed by the same individual as on the original confirmation. Amendments received and made 60 days before departure will incur an amendment charge of £40 per booking, plus any communication charge or other expenses incurred by The Responsible Safari Company Ltd. If you cancel your booking, the following general scale of cancellation charges will be payable based on the number of days prior to departure that written notice of cancellation is received at our office.

Prior to 84 days forfeiture of deposit

  • 83 - 60 days prior 40% of total Travel price
  • 60 - 30 days prior 75% of total Travel price
  • 29 - 7 days prior 90% of total Travel price
  • Less than 7 days 100% of total Travel price

Children policy

Children are welcome but should be above 12 years of age and of high fitness ability.

Participant Guidelines

Be informed that there will be a guide and porter to take you through the mountain. You should take warm clothes and be of a high fitness level as some of the climbs are challenging.

Visitors travel at their own risk and The Responsible Safari Company recommends you to travel in Malawi with full travel insurance. Luggage, valuables and all other personal effects are at all times and in all circumstances at your risk unless and to the extent that loss or damage is proved to have been caused by The Responsible Safari Company Ltd's negligence.
