Please note the tour starts from Mulanje. However if you would like transport from your hotel, this can be arranged for an additional cost.

Please note tour times and days may vary. Transport- either self drive or with a driver can be organised through The Responsible Safari Company in Blantyre/Lilongwe at an additional cost.

NB: Trip time and drop off location may change and this will be communicated prior to the trip.



Cancellation policy

If you wish to cancel or amend your booking The Responsible Safari Company Ltd. will make every effort to assist you. Requests for amendment or cancellation must be in writing, and confirmed by the same individual as on the original confirmation. Amendments received and made 60 days before departure will incur an amendment charge of £40 per booking, plus any communication charge or other expenses incurred by The Responsible Safari Company Ltd. If you cancel your booking, the following general scale of cancellation charges will be payable based on the number of days prior to departure that written notice of cancellation is received at our office.

Prior to 84 days forfeiture of deposit

  • 83 - 60 days prior 40% of total Travel price
  • 60 - 30 days prior 75% of total Travel price
  • 29 - 7 days prior 90% of total Travel price
  • Less than 7 days 100% of total Travel price

Mulanje Orphan Care Visit


Duration: 3 hour(s) - Location: Mulanje

An Orphan Care Project in Mulanje District which aims to provide orphans with after school care as well as medical, feeding and education services. You will spend an afternoon with the children at one of the orphan care centres in the Mulanje District. You can play with the children, help with the feeding programme, and use your skills to teach or help at the rural medical clinic. A wonderful insight into life in rural Malawi!

Itinerary

  • Arrive at the orphan care centre at 2pm
  • Orientation and meeting the children
  • 3pm-4pm: playing with the children and helping at one of the centres


Participant guidelines

Participants should be willing to help out where needed and lots of energy will make the visit an amazing experience to remember for yourself and the children you meet.

Please note ladies should wear long skirts or trousers.

Expect a huge Malawian welcome with singing and dancing- they do this for every visitor- even if they are just coming from an adjacent town- dont be alarmed just join in and have fun!
