The main lodge building is set above the lagoon providing excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. Mvuu means 'hippo' in the local dialect and the name epitomizes the huge number of hippo pods close to the lodge. You can sit on your balcony watch the wildlife and relax or head out on day and night safari game drives with one of the knowledgeable guides at Mvuu. The highlight of any stay at Mvuu Lodge is the fantastic river boat safaris! The park boasts a diverse number of animals and birds with elephants, crocodiles, pels' fish eagle to name but a few.
Visit the community: Day Visit to Cultural Village
At Mvuu Wilderness Lodge guests are taken on two game drives each day, treated to wonderful sundowners on the banks of the river and expertly guided around Liwonde National Park. Options of taking a boat safari up the river are also included and should not be missed. Walking safaris can be arranged at additional cost.
Guests can also arrange a visit to the nearby school and cultural village.
