Description: An option to sleep out under the stars in a spectacular location on the Shire River floodplain. The star beds platform sleeps only 2 and it blends discreetly into the surrounding bush and is located 4 km north of the lodge with a 180 degree view onto the river and floodplain and has the park's wonderful riverine thicket as its backdrop. It faces west and the sun sets over the river to the front and rises at the back of the platform bathing the floodplain in early dawn light. The platform has a bucket shower, and an eco-loo and we recommend booking for a night in conjunction with a stay at Mvuu lodge or camp. Guests would arrive before sunset and have a private dinner and usually depart soon after dawn with the option of driving, boating or walking back to the lodge. Throughout the dry months (May to October) the floodplain has a permanent population of water-buck and impala, frequent buffalo and elephant sightings and at night many of the park's large hippo population graze in this area. Walks conducted from here can access most of the parks habitats in less than a kilometer. " It is a real back to nature experience!!
