Majete has recently undergone a transformation and guests can enjoy the wildlife from their private chalet balcony and watch the evening flow of animals come to the waterhole as they are having a sundowner.
Shelley and Anissa are the new managers at Thawale with a team of fantastic enthusiastic Malawians. African Parks is passionate about community involvement and almost the staffs are sourced from nearby communities.

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
Thawale Camp employs local staff from adjacent communities, providing increased employment to the area and beneficial rewards from tourism.
Thawale utilizes the Wildlife Reserve guides and scouts who are locally sourced and part of the ongoing community sensitization scheme managed by African Parks.
Majete partners with local communities and offers community visits to nearby villages so that tourists can sample life in rural Malawi. Sekera Village offers traditional dances as well as local cuisine and an insight into their unique culture
