Chawani Bungalow is available on a self-catering rate and is ideal for families or groups. Chawani is set within the working fair trade tea estate of Satemwa. Set amidst the rolling tea fields, Chawani is tucked into an idyllic corner of the estate surrounded by a stunning garden backing onto the tea fields.
The lodge now has a swimming pool!
The Kitchen has fridges and a big, deep freezer, plus a gas cooker in case Escom fails to deliver…. Cutlery and pots and pans are supplied for you to use. Enoch and Alec are also there to look after you and to clean the house. They can also assist with basic cooking. We try to keep some soft drinks and beers for you to buy if you would like.
If you don’t feel like cooking….You can come down to Huntingdon House for a meal (please book in advance) We serve lunch between 12:00-14:30 and dinner between 19:00-21:00. Huntingdon is the house that was built by Satemwas Founder Maclean Kay in the 1920s. He came from Scotland and the Kay family still runs Satemwa.
