Fish Eagle Bay Lodge is located right on the shores of Lake Malawi. As the name suggests, Fish Eagle Lodge is home to numerous pairs of fish eagles, and they are always calling and catching fish right in front of the lodge!
Fish Eagle Bay Lodge is situated close to the historical town of Nkhotakota, offering easy access to Lake Malawi and Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve. Nkhotakota Town is well known for its slave trade history - slaves were shipped from this town to Zanzibar and Mozambique. Within the lakeshore area, Nkhotakota is locally called Linga, which means "stockade where slaves were kept".

From Lilongwe, Fish Eagle Bay Lodge is 180km north east of Lilongwe and can reach there via Salima or Kasungu. If going through Salima, turn left on M5 road to Nkhotakota before reaching Salima town. This road will take you to Sani Trading Centre after passing signposts for Nkhotakota Pottery and Safari Lodge. Look out for lodge signpost on the left side of the road. If coming from Kasungu, take Nkhotakota road on the right-hand side at Kasungu Boma, this road will take you through Nkhotakota Game Reserve road which is not finished and becomes slppery during rainy season. Turn right at the junction when you reach Nkhotakota town. From Nkhotakota town, Fish Eagle Bay Lodge is 10km south and sign post at Sani Trading Centre turnoff makes it easy to reach. The lodge is 6km away from the turnoff. If using a GPS, Fish Eagle's position is 13degr 2.354'S and 34degr 19.598'E.
